Team President Brian Rothenberger says this season is unique.
"We haven't really had that before, I think they're really just frustrated with how last season went, and I think that kind of animosity is felt from the new guys, and they understand that the standard here is much different than what took place last season, and that it's not going to be accepted."
"I'm excited to see that kind of passion, that anger, take its toll on the ice, and hopefully on the opponents, leading to some big wins."
After making it to the play-offs two seasons ago, the team finished ninth place in the ten team league last season. This season, Rothenberger says some new, and some returning players will be the ones to watch.
"John Schiavo actually played for us a couple years ago, was in a higher league last year, and is back now. He is an outstanding skilled forward who I think will really be a difference-maker for us."
"We also have another goaltender coming in to supplement, a really good goaltender returning from last year, Kevin Resop. The new player's name is Brent Moran. I think they have the potential to be the best goalie tandem in the league."
The first game is on Oct. 21 in Moline at the Vibrant Arena against the Peoria Rivermen. Before the game, country musician, Eric Paslay, will perform in the parking lot.
